Abstract

Temporary Anchorage Devices have been the only means of providing absolute anchorage but have complications of causing soft and hard tissue damage and requires well-formed cortical bone. Also, they are unable to tolerate torsional forces and moments. For this reason, miniplates had come up with the advantage of providing more surface area but are difficult to place as they require flap surgery and also removal post treatment. CTOR plates have revolutionized the way of harnessing anchorage by ease of placement, removal and patient comfort. They are placed with the help of two implants and come in wide variety of shapes and modifications, increasing the magnitude of orthodontic treatment modality. They are placed at a distance from soft tissues and thus cause no irritation. Intrusion, extrusion, protraction and retraction of teeth are some of the orthodontic movements that can be achieved without any loss of anchorage from the CTOR plates. Thus, CTOR greatly expands the ability of Orthodontists to treat severe skeletal problems non-surgically. Abstract

A new coronavirus (Sars-CoV-2) was detected in China at the end of 2019 and has since caused a worldwide pandemic. This virus is responsible for an acute respiratory syndrome (COVID-19), distinguished by a potentially lethal interstitial bilateral pneumonia. As Sars-CoV-2 is highly infective through airborne contamination, the high infection risk in the dental environment is a serious problem for both professional practitioners and patients. This literature overview at analyzing various reports available on oral symptoms along with possible causation, their relationship to the time of occurrence of clinical symptoms of this global pandemic.   Keywords: Ageusia, Anosmia, COVID19, Oral Lesions

Abstract

Background: Augmented Reality is a favorable and definitive pedagogical approach for integrating formal learning. E-learning combined with Augmented Reality (AR) technology can surpass traditional learning methods if the system is tailored to include components of smart learning and evaluation of knowledge on devices ubiquitously in the absence of tutors. AR is predicted to transform and become the fundamental user interface of the twenty-first century. Augmented reality, instead, generates an interaction between the real environment and virtual objects. The use of augmented reality permits direct visualization bypassing the last transfer step, which means, on a large scale, to avoid data and time loss. Visualization of digital data directly on the patient means the possibility of achieving great advantages in digital procedures. This review briefly summarizes history, definitions, features and components of augmented reality technology and discusses its avenues and applications in orthodontics. Keywords: Cephalometry, Bracket positioning
