Abstract

For the better anti-inflammatory or analgesics effects of drugs; enzymes have been widely used in the medical field either it may be arthritis or fracture of the bone or it may be oedema. Along with antiinflammatory action these drugs have anti-oedema properties, healing properties and fibrinolytic properties as like trypsin-chymotrypsin. In this article we are going to discuss about the importance or applications of these enzymes either alone or in combination with other NSAIDS in the field of dental practice. Keywords: Antiinflammatory, Analgesics serratiopeptidases chymotrypsin oral cancer.

Abstract

Concept of dental ozone therapy is significantly becoming a trend nowadays, O3 is pure ozone gas has a soft sky-blue colour with a pungent smell extremely reactive, powerful oxidizing agent. It has a many biomedical properties like antibacterial, immune-stimulating, synthesis of Igs, etc. There are various uses of ozone in the field of dentistry, and the objective of this review is to shed light on clinical dental applications of ozone and summarize the research findings regarding the use of ozone in dentistry. Keywords: Ozone (O3).

Removable complete denture till date exists as one of the treatment modality of choice to the edentulous patients. Complaints that are associated after delivery of complete denture is more of actual type and very less frequent of psychological type. In most of the cases education to the patient prior to the start of the procedure will help the clinician as well as the patient to understand the limitations associated with the use of complete denture. The most important thing is to motivate the patient to overcome these limitations. Keywords: Post insertion problems, Complete denture, Complaints.

Abstract

To get the volumetric data of the maxillary and the mandibular dental arches, the teeth itself, the morphology of the bone, to get the imaging and extent of the bony defects that too with low radiation, cone beam computed tomography plays a major role. CBCT is very much helpful in detecting the three dimensional view of the alveolar bone, helpful in getting the quite accurate extent of the bony defects, helpful in some of the difficult cases of root canal treatment where the dentist is not been able to find the actual curvature of the canal or where the accessory canal has been missed from the primary canal. This technique cone beam computed tomography provides the image to the dentist with minimal of distortion. Keywords: CBCT, Three dimensional imaging, Minimal distortion.

Abstract

Platelet rich fibrin is obtained from platelets, from human blood and can act as a biomaterial. Platelet plays a major role in the healing process as it contains various growth factors and cytokines. The main advantage of platelet rich fibrin is, it is prepared from patients own blood that’s why it is known as autologous material. It is very commonly used in the field of dentistry in the process of recovery, healing of tissue after surgeries and also in tissue regeneration. Keywords: Dentistry, Platelet rich fibrin, Healing, Repair, Tissue regeneration.

Abstract

Root perforation is commonly caused by procedural accident during operative procedure or might be due to any pathological alteration. Perforation can be defined as an artificial communication between oral environment and the supporting structures in the external root surfaces which may causes serious implications that can even lead to extraction. If the perforation diagnosed at early and proper measures taken for the perforation, can lead to long term survival of the tooth/teeth. Keywords: Root Perforation, MTA, Calcium hydroxide.
