Aim: To analyse the demographics and presenting features of patients presenting with optic neuritis and papillitis. Materials and Methods: Clinical profiles of 40 patients presenting with optic neuritis and papillitis at a tertiary care center were collected retrospectively and prospectively. Detailed medical and ophthalmic history was taken especially about mode, duration and course of the disease, drug intake, alcoholism, smoking, pregnancy, lactation, convulsions, pyrexia, history suggestive of TB, syphilis, neurological deficit. A comprehensive ophthalmological and neurological evaluation was done for each patient along with radiological work up. Patients were prospectively followed up for an average of three months. Result: Females in the reproductive age group constituted largest number of the patients (61.8%) in the present series. Maximum patients (70%) were between 20-50 years of age. Vision was found to be affected in all the patients at presentation and most of them presented with vision CF or HM (35.4% and 29.25% respectively) while 4 patients had complete loss of vision. Two third (66.7%) of patients reported eye pain at presentation. Abnormal pupillary reaction was found in most patients with the most common being RAPD on swinging flash light which was seen in 85.4%. Equal percentage (39.5%) of patients presented with Blurred Hyperemic (BH) disc and ophthalmoscopically normal appearing disc. Onset and progression of disease was found to be rapid in most cases ranging from few hours to days. Visual recovery post treatment was found to be good with most eyes achieving vision 6/24 or better. Conclusion: Optic neuritis has varied clinical presentations. Most of our patients were young to middle aged females. The most common presenting features were decrease in vision ranging from slight to profound, eye pain and abnormal pupillary reaction. Morphological abnormalities in appearance of optic disc were also found in two third of cases.Rapid progression was noted in almost all cases. Most of the cases achieved a good outcome at the end of follow up period. Keywords: Clinical, Neuritis, Papillitis & optic.

Abstract

Background: The World Health Organization (WHO) defines a maternal death as "the death of a woman while pregnant or within 42 days of termination of pregnancy, irrespective of the duration and the site of the pregnancy, from any cause related to or aggravated by the pregnancy or its management but not from accidental or incidental causes. India alone has 22% of the global total. Materials and Methods: This study was performed in Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, M.Y. Hospital & M.Y. Hospital, Indore from January 2000 to September 2019. In year 2005, with the goal of reducing the numbers of maternal and neonatal deaths, the Government of India launched Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY). This study was planned to assess the effect of JSY on maternal mortality and also on other maternal health parameters by observing the pre and post JSY data from January 2000 to September 2019. Data were analyzed for 04 years (2000-2004) before the implementation of JSY and compared with 15 years (2005-2019) following implementation of JSY. All the cases of maternal mortality during this period were studied, causes of these maternal mortalities were evaluated, various socio-demographic factors associated with the maternal death analyzed, and changing trends in maternal mortality pre and post JSY was analyzed. Focus was on all causes of maternal mortality particularly direct causes of maternal mortality for which management usually involves maternity care professional. Study Designed: Observational study. Result: Total Maternal Death during study period 2000 to 2019 was 903. Maximum maternal Death is recorded in the age group 21-30 yrs (68%). Maternal Mortality is more in Primi Patients, i.e. 337 out of 903 (37.32%) of Maternal Death. Conclusion: According to this study, after the implementation of JSY institutional admission and deliveries increased.MMRin pre JSY i.e,2000-2004 was 545.40,and in post JSY PeriodMMRin 2005-2009 was 523.82, MMRin 2010-2014 was 472.90, MMR in 2015-2019 was 389.28 (post JSY). Hence after the introduction of JSY in year 2005 we found that MMR showed continuous decreasing trend. Keywords: MMR (Maternal Mortality Rate), JSY (Janani Suraksha Yojna).

Abstract

There are many tools and a technique for identification of sex in unknown human skeletons one of them is morph metric study of the human hyoid bone is a useful tool. Work for hyoid bone with respect weight and different measurement of identification of sex. In our study 32 male and 18 female bones of age group range 15 to 60 years were received from the human deceased body during post-mortem. In greater part dimension there is a obvious dissimilarity between male & female hyoid bone. The Mean, Range, SD & all parameter of the hyoid bone were calculated by the typical technique. Materials and Methods: The material include 50 specimens of hyoid bones received from deceased human body during dissection, museum at Index medical college institute and research centre at Indore and autopsy at M.G.M Medical College, Indore from 2013-2016. Out of 200 medico legal cases in the age range from 15 years to 60 years, measurements carried out with the help of vernier caliper & electronic weighing machine. Result: The consequences of these boundary female qualities are not exactly the in male. The mean vertical length between center of the foremost surface of the body & cross over line drawn between the tubercles of more cornua in the midline in males is 36.8123.16 mm & in females is 32.31 2.44 mm, the distinction being significant (p value < 0> Conclusion: The investigations of the male human hyoid bone for the principal of the estimations were more when contrasted with the estimations of female human hyoid bones. In a large portion of the boundaries there was a clear differentiation between the estimations of both male female. For recognition of sex in these bones, single figuring may not be adequate to choose the sex of the bones and it gets required to see all the estimation before choosing the sex of a unidentified hyoid bone. Abstract

Materials and Methods : A total of 230 confirmed cases of malaria were taken up for the study from the admitted patients in MGM Medical College & M. Y. Hospital, of which 141 were falciparum positive, 69 were vivax positive & 20 patients were positive for both Pf & Pv. Result: Comparison of duration of stay in Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax malaria P value 0.05 not significant, Comparison of hematological parameters in Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax malaria P value < 0> 0.05 not significant. Conclusion: Cerebral malaria is the most lethal entity of severe malaria and children are more prone than other susceptible groups. Encephalopathy, shock and renal failure at the time of presentation were poor prognostic factors, while anemia and thrombocytopenia were not found to be associated with adverse outcome. Thrombocytopenia is a key indicator of malaria infebrile patients. Nature of thrombocytopenia in malaria is benign, mostly recovering with antimalarials without platelet transfusions. In our study, mortality rate of malaria was found to be 4.7%. Pf was associated with higher mortality rate as compared to Pv. Complications were more common with Pf group, though they were also seen in Pv group. Abstract

Global money related coordination on household financial development have been seriously discussed. Numerous observational investigations (Mendoza et al., 2007) 3 are uncertain and conflicting about the consequences of this relationship. Worldwide money related reconciliation is decidedly connected with development of the economy. In any case, Andersen (2005)4 discovered feeble connection between monetary transparency and key macroeconomic markers in a cross country examination. Abstract

Materials Methods: The majority of the patients who were diagnosed with the glioblastoma at GMC, Bhopal. The only exceptions are the patients that have died or were not fit enough for referral. Among these patients, we have searched for those, which were older than 70 years at the time of diagnosis Result: When comparing the groups of the patients younger than 70 with those older, the difference in median survival between groups was statistically significant at p < 0> Conclusion: Microsurgery is safe and effective in order to improve or preserve short-term quality of life in glioblastoma patients. Total tumor resection is not associated with a significantly greater risk for neurological deterioration, either in patients with preoperative functional impairment, or in functionally independent patients. For glioblastoma the survival also depends on person’s age, type of tumor, and overall health play a role as treatments improve people newly diagnosed with these aggressive brain tumors may have a better outcome. Glioblastoma is linked to age, with better rates for those below 65 years of age, but also to aggressive and complete surgical excision, a good Karnofsky index score before surgery and the application of radiotherapy after surgery Study Design: Observational Study.
