Abstract

This review focused on the use of nutrients and herbs for enhancing the immunity against COVID?19. In humans, corona viruses are causing the common cold and, recently, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). This presents a major threat to public health. The novel coronavirus has spread rapidly to multiple countries and has been declared a pandemic by the WHO. COVID?19 is usually caused by a virus to which most probably the people with low immunity response are being affected. Herbal plants increase the intestinal beneficial bacteria which are helpful and make up the immune system. In addition to the well-known personal hygiene and preventive measures against the new coronavirus (COVID-19), we can also follow some simple recommendations regarding our nutrition that strengthen our immune system and could better prepare us for an epidemic. The virus rapidly spreads too many people within a short period of time. Good nutrition is crucial for health, particularly in times when the immune system might need to fight back. It can also potentially lead to an increased consumption of highly processed foods, which tend to be high in fats, sugars and salt. Nonetheless, even with few and limited ingredients, one can continue eating a diet that supports good health. Various studies investigated that a powerful antioxidant glutathione and a bioflavonoid Quercetin may prevent various infections including COVID?19. In conclusion, the Nutrition and Herbal plants play a vital role to enhance the immunity of people to control of COVID?19. Keywords: COVID 19, Immunity booster, Tulsi, Neem, Turmeric

Abstract

Gagging in dental patients can be disruptive to dental treat- ment and may be a barrier to patient care, preventing the provision of treatment and prosthodontic rehabilitation. The management of gagging depends on its severity and causes. Several methods have been proposed to manage the gag reflex, with varying degrees of success. A simple technique of systematic desensitization using patient’s thumb has been explained to deal with the gagging problem.

Abstract

Despite the success rate of dental implant-supported prostheses and bone grafting, 1 removable complete dentures are still commonly provided, including for patients with limited financial resources, severe bone resorption, as an interim treatment before dental implant loading, for patients with severe systemic diseases unable to undergo surgical procedures,2 and for those who are satisfied with complete dentures and decline surgical treatment. Although the success of removable dental prostheses depends on different factors, the influence of adequate retention, stability and support has been emphasized.3 In situations where retention and stability have not been achieved satisfactorily, such as for patients with severely resorbed ridges,4,5xerostomia, 6 lack of muscular control,7,8or oral deformations caused by tumors or trauma,4 the use of denture adhesives may berecommended to improve masticatory function. 9Denture adhesive refers to a commercially available, nontoxic, soluble material that is applied to the tissue surface of the denture to enhance denture retention, stability, and performance.10 In the present article denture adhesive has been reviewed in detail.

Abstract

Flabby maxillary ridge is the most commonly encountered clinical condition during routine dental practice. The presence of these displaceable denture-bearing tissues often poses difficulty during fabrication of complete dentures resulting in compromised support, retention and stability. Many impression techniques and materials have been proposed in various literatures to help overcome this difficulty. These techniques vary in philosophies but are often quite time-consuming to perform, and rely on materials not commonly in use in contemporary dental practice. The purpose of this paper is to describe an impression technique for flabby ridges, using conventional impression material.
