The consumption of gas for thermal power plants is prioritized due to economic efficiency, in terms of reducing the costs of operation and repairs of power plant units, increasing the reliability of operation and reducing environmental consequences. Measuring and knowing the exact amount of gas consumption and calculating the efficiency of power plants in these sensitive conditions, by various types of precision instrument flow meters, is one of the main challenges. The main purpose of this research is to fully describe the installation and operation of gas flow meters according to the ISO-5167 standard located in the Ahvaz Ramin Power Plant, as well as to review and study their efficiency, using real operating data, which Validation and effectiveness, a comparison has been made between orifice plate flow meters used in gas units with turbine flow meters in CGS pressure reduction station and power plant gas station, which are widely used in various industries. The results show that the values of orifice plate flow meters have higher accuracy and accuracy, as well as less failure, and the maintenance costs of these flow meters are much lower than the turbine type, and the installation of this method is easier.
