Sardar Sardarov

Sardar Sardarov is Founder and Editor in Chief of Anthropogeos, an interdisciplinary research organisation established in 2012 to examine the relationship between people, culture and the natural environment. His research interests centre on social anthropology and the ways geography, climate and landscape influence human societies, cultural practices and patterns of social development. Through Anthropogeos, Sardar has supported and participated in field research and scientific expeditions across regions including Antarctica, the Gobi Desert, Guatemala, Uzbekistan, Svalbard, South America, South Africa and New Zealand. His work brings together field observation, cultural inquiry and visual documentation to explore how communities interact with their environments and how traditions, knowledge and cultural identity are shaped by place. Anthropogeos research has been presented through exhibitions at museums, universities, scientific conferences and cultural festivals, alongside photography, film and educational projects designed to bring field research to wider audiences.
