The pandemic effect of coronavirus is a multitude. It causes severe acute respiratory syndrome which can be life-threatening for some patients. The outbreak is on a rise worldwide despite a global effort to restrain the disease and this is a challenge for health professionals. This role of a dental professional is also critical as they have an important role in containment and spread of COVID-19 disease. The dentist should take the lead in practice management and treat only emergency patients with personal protective equipment (PPE) in COVID-19 affected countries. As the dentist are at the highest risk of infection due to the aerosol-generating procedures. But the question remains what are the protocols for treatment in dental practice during this pandemic. For dentists, the standard protocol is not only the use of personal protective equipment, hand hygiene, and compulsory use of rubber dam but also the different measures to reduce and remove aerosol. The slew of measures to be followed before, at the time, and after the treatment procedures will determine the safety of the dentist.
