Carcinoma of the gallbladder (CaGB) is the most frequent neoplasm of biliary tract and shows marked gender, ethnic and geographical variation in different parts of the world. In North India, it is one of the most common causes of cancer mortality. This disease is characterized by lack of specific symptoms often resulting in delayed diagnosis and poor prognosis. Image-guided FNAC plays an important role in preoperative diagnosis of gallbladder lesions with minimal complications. Adenocarcinoma is the most common subtype of Ca GB. However, rarely Squamous cell carcinoma maybe seen having a worse prognosis. Careful examination of cytomorphological pattern on smears can help in early diagnosis and subtyping of malignant tumors of Gallbladder. Here we report two cases of squamous cell carcinoma gall bladder diagnosed on ultrasound guided cytological aspiration which proved helpful in deciding the management and prognostication of these patients.
