The article provides a historical overview of the past 25 years, covering the origins and development of the Radiation Monitoring Laboratory at the State Institution “Marzieiev Institute for Public Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” in the broader context of radiation hygiene monitoring in Ukraine. It describes the Laboratory’s activities, including monitoring radioactivity in water, food, plants, soil, and raw materials. Its activities also encompass the study of radioactive contamination from nuclear power plants (NPPs) and other technologies, accidental releases from the Chornobyl NPP, and assessments of natural radioactivity.
