Cardiovascular emergencies are life-threatening disorders that must be recognized immediately to avoid delay in treatment and to minimize morbidity and mortality. According to the World Health Organization in 2016, nearly 17.5 million lives are lost due to heart disease Worldwide, and in the race. The Indians are again running fast as American and others. According to WHO (2015), estimates about 60 percentage of the total world’s cardiac patient were Indians. The study was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of power point presentation on knowledge and knowledge on practice regarding management of cardiac emergencies among staff nurses working in G.V.N. Hospital at Trichy. The study was an evaluative approach. One group pre-test and post-test design was used for this study. Permission was obtained from the Managing Director and data collection was over a period of one month. The investigator had selected 60 samples through simple random sampling technique who fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Oral consent was obtained. In pre-test, structured questionnaire was used for assessing the level of knowledge and checklist to assess their knowledge on practice and then power point presentation was given. After 21 days post-test was conducted using same questionnaire. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyse the finding of the study. The result showed that there is a significant difference between pre-test and post-test level of knowledge and knowledge on practice. The finding of the study shows that power point presentation had effectiveness in improving knowledge and knowledge on practice regarding management of cardiac emergencies.
