Emotional Intelligence (EI) is a pivotal skill that enhances leadership effectiveness, improves employee well-being, and mitigates workplace stress. This review synthesizes current research on the components and practical applications of EI, particularly in professional settings. With evolving work environments that prioritize interpersonal dynamics, EI is increasingly valued over traditional intelligence measures like IQ. This article explores the neurological and psychological basis of EI, compares it to cognitive intelligence, and assesses its impact on leadership and employee satisfaction. Evidence from recent literature suggests that EI fosters productive relationships, effective communication, and resilience traits that are essential for modern organizational success. The review also presents strategies for cultivating emotional intelligence and offers recommendations for integrating EI training into leadership development programs.
