Forensic nursing is an evolving and essential field within healthcare, bridging the gap between the medical and legal sectors. It encompasses a wide range of roles, including the evaluation and treatment of victims and perpetrators of crime, collection of forensic evidence, and provision of expert testimony in legal proceedings. This paper reviews the various roles forensic nurses play, the challenges they face in practice, and the opportunities available for the profession's growth. The paper aims to offer insights into how forensic nursing contributes to justice and patient care, while also addressing areas for improvement to optimize practice.
